Climate Challenge Fund

 

The Furniture Project (Stranraer) Limited was awarded a Climate Challenge Fund grant totalling £33,464* to run the Wigtownshire Reuse Partnership Development Programme. *This amount includes a maximum contribution of £9,946 from the European Regional Development Fund.

 

In 2017/18, the Climate Challenge Fund totals £9.97 million and is a combination of £9.09 million from the Scottish Government and £0.88 million from the European Regional Development Fund. The Climate Challenge Fund is a Scottish Government grant programme that provides funding and support for community-led organisations to run projects that reduce local carbon emissions, helping to tackle climate change. Since it was launched in 2008, the CCF has funded 986 projects including:

 

 

  • energy efficiency improvements to community owned buildings and home energy efficiency advice

  • lower carbon travel options

  • community growing initiatives

  • schemes to tackle waste

    The European Regional Development Fund comes from the European Structural and Investment Fund, which helps to facilitate major investments to support transformational change and economic and social structural reforms across Scotland.
